For about four years now I have had the fantastic opportunity to teach Ukrainian dance in Kamloops. I had been dancing Ukrainian dance for about ten years before that. This experience has brought me closer to my heritage (on my paternal side) and has really shown me how people express themselves through cultural practices. While dancing at events we are often exposed to other cultures and their traditions as well. This opportunity has given me a great appreciation for the different art forms and ways cultures express themselves.
